Sighted atop the Art, Design and Media building in NTU: my first shooting star in Singapore. It's been a long time since I've seen a shooting star, and I've quite forgotten how thrilling it can be. The transience of it leaves you breathless, and you somehow cannot believe what you just saw. Yet, for a long time, the image of that cleanly etched streak, illuminated against the dark night sky, follows you everywhere you go. That's beauty in transience at its best.
Every time I lie down with the stars above, I feel I could stay there forever. There's nothing better to be lost in, nothing more mesmerizing, than a sky full of stars.
But damn the annoyingly pokey carpet grass.
